Midweek long run
30/12/04
Went out a bit later today as no need to get up too early as we are on holidays. Don't you just love it? Was a lot cooler than it has been lately and was a bit drizzly when I started.
Like last Wednesday, settled into a nice rhythm and just rolled along at 4:30 pace as rain was blown into my face. Rain didn't last that long and the temperature was very good for running. Felt that I was probably pushing it a little bit when HR went into 150's so backed it off slightly as I have a date with 1km intervals tomorrow and don't want to miss the mark there. Slowed the pace down to 4:40/km and this felt really good and rolled along at this pace until the finish. Completed 16km in 73:19, which ended up a bit over a minute quicker than last week.
Will look at increasing the distance of the midweek long run as I should be running 80 minutes, which this run was taking when I started it 6 weeks ago. Will crank it up to 18km in January with the view of upping it to 20km in February.
