Bay Run and Intervals with Better Half at her pace

19/1/05

Ventured out to the Bay to run with Belinda and the MTG. However, as we were held up in traffic, arrived late so decided to warm up with a reverse lap of the Bay to see if we'd meet up with them.

After adding the canal section to the run without realising, we had run for 6km before we got to Timbrell Park for intervals. Saw Jim, the MTG Co-ordinator who had just finished his intervals when we were about to start.

We decided to do 5x1km intervals as Belinda had previously done 4 and we wanted to go one better. Belinda ran her intervals faster and more consistent than she ever had including a huge PB for the last one.

Finished off with a 3km warmdown for a total of 14km for the evening.

It was a lighter workout than I would normally do on a Wednesday but after my double dose of medicine on Sunday, I felt it would be wise to take it a bit easier today. My body is already thanking me for it and I am now looking forward to giving 3x2km intervals a bash tomorrow.

Comments:
Wow by the sounds of things Horrie Belinda needs to get her own Blog. She is going in leaps and bounds.

It's great to run with your partner, even if you have to adjust the pace a bit. Hubby is back into some running as of next week. It is lots of fun to share an easy run (for me) and help him improve.

Plus we both really enjoy the pizza and red wine so much more :)

It is great to be able to run with her. It helps me run slower which I need to do on my easy days. It pushes her to run harder than she would if running on her own. And it is great to be able to help her whilst she builds up her base. She is now running 65km a week and is running out of her skin. And the meal after is always that bit more pleasurable.
