Friday 10km
14/1/05
Ran 10.5 km today with the aim of keeping the HR below 143 as I wanted to work a little bit but not too much. Managed to do the run in 50:42. Was having trouble keeping the HR below 143 in last 4 km as I just finished running up a hill and the weather was again quite warm. Average HR for the run was 140 which met the objective.

wow Horrie you must have a very low RHR.
I run at usually around 160bpm for moderate pace. In speed (or hills) sessions I usually hit 180 - 185.
After running I can walk and maintain a pace above 140. My RHR is 55 - this has come down from 64 over the past 6 months with Pat.
I once got to 205 in a race but then realised it was interference of the runner next to me giving a wrong reading.

Yes Claire, I have a very low resting HR. Have to take it every morning when I wake up to please Pat. It is usually anywhere between 35 and 42. My maximum HR is 179. I've managed to get it up to 175 when really busting a gut.
Horrie,
10k in 50 for training is pretty good if you were trying to keep the heart rate down. If the humidity stays away Sunday you should give the 40m a good hit.
