Rest Day and Short Sharp Hitout

Another total rest day on a Monday. Just trying to ensure body remains fresh and strong as the intensity in training is increasing towards Canberra.

Just a short sharp hitout today running 8km before Australia Day 8km Race at Centennial Park tomorrow. Wanted to see how I recovered from Sunday's long run and run out any of the cobwebs that might have been hanging around. Was very surprised at how strong and fresh I felt and had to consciously hold back and slow down in parts to ensure pace remained at 4:30 per km. Finished in a tick over 36 minutes which was the plan. I am feeling good about tomorrow's race and will be trying to run as close to 32 minutes as possible.
