3 laps Centennial Park walking track
25/2/05
I decided to head to Centennial Park today to run 3 gentle laps today. Set out a bit slower today to keep things easy as I have had 3 fairly tough runs over the last couple of days and had to remind myself that I am meant to be easing back into it. Ran the first lap at 5:13 per km pace to finish it in 19:51. This pace was quite comfortable so the objective was to run the 3 laps at around the same pace. The GPS did not co-operate as it measured the track 200m shorter on the second lap than the first, resulting in that lap being run in 18:41. I didn't worry about it and continued to keep the average pace around the same. The third lap was measured 100m shorter than the second lap and 300m shorter than the first lap. Try and figure that one out. This resulted in a 17:53 final lap, giving me an overall time of 56:26 for 11.4km at an average pace of 4:49 per km. This meant that the pace was almost identical to yesterday's run, only that it was 50% longer and felt easier. Now I am confused. Average HR was 141 today which confirms that I wasn't working as hard.

My favourite running track in Sydney. Birds in the trees, walkers and runner on the track, cars going slowly around, cyclists and roller bladers going hell for leather, and horses ripping up the track. Ahh! Great place to run Horrie.
