Back into it (but at a lot slower pace)

8/2/05

Did 3 gentle laps of Centennial Park walking path. It was quite warm, still making me work a bit. But having regular drinks, made it bearable. I was feeling a little nervous before venturing out today but told myself, 'when you fall off a horse, you have to get right back on'.

I was quite relieved when it was over that the body held up and that I was still feeling OK at the end. It sure is great to get that one out of the way.

Upped the distance a bit today to run 14km with Belinda for our midweek long run. Cruised through it in just over 90 minutes. Very slow and very comfortable. Actually felt as though I could have done another 14 at that pace straight after but told myself there was plenty of time for that.

10/2/05

Another early morning run with Belinda. This time it was 10km in 62 minutes. It was once again a very comfortable run. I am feeling a bit stronger each day and am looking forward to The Equaliser on Sunday.

Good on you Horrie! Nothing wrong with feeling good. Rebuilding your confidence is the important thing.

Horrie,
Glad to hear you have 'gotten back on the horse' and are back into some steady running. Your experience has given a lot of your running friends a lot to think about in regard to hydration. Keep it slow and steady so that that the comeback is always forward.

Good news, Horrie, but do be careful & don't hurry your recovery; Belinda, if you have to, tie him to a chair & if you need any help let me know! LL

We knew you'd come back to us Horrie. But we want you to run forever so don't hurry back and do an injury.

Great to see you pacing yourself and having regular drinks.

See you on the road :)
