On the improve
14/2/05
Rest day today. Put the feet up and did nothing, even though after the easy week I had last week, could probably have went out for a toddle.
15/2/05
Same run as last Tuesday. 3 laps of the walking path of Centennial Park which is around 11.4km. Cruised around at a very consistent pace with the HR not going up too high. Ran it 2.5 minutes quicker than last week and the average HR was lower, which is a good sign. Average HR was 148 today, whereas normally for a run at this pace, should probably be in the low 140s. Last week, it was in the 150s running slower so I'm definitely on the mend. Will run with Belinda for the rest of the days this week, culminating in doing the 25km at SMC on Sunday, where we will aim for a time below 2:30.

It's great to follow the progress of your recovery Horrie - a great example of listening to your body.
Good luck on Sunday - I probably won't see you unless I run the slowest 5K in recorded history (which is not impossible).

Horrie,
It's as much about the mind feeling comfortable as the body. You are well on the way, just will take some time for full confidence to return.

Horrie,
Did you see the times Bennyr and Dave posted their comments. Blimey!
I wouldn't be running at all if I kept those hours.
Talk about listening to your body. My body would be screaming.
