Belinda gets through the weekend okay
16/4/05
Went out for our Saturday night twilight run. This is a 7.5km loop with a couple of testing hills in it. Belinda started off well and managed to build momentum as she got into her rhythm. This is the same run we did on Thursday and Belinda managed to run it quite a bit quicker tonight. It was on par with the time she was running it before her injury stopped her in her tracks.

Today was a step up in Belinda's training program. This will be the first time she has had to run on consecutive days and also the first time she will try to run more than 10km. We went out on the 10.5km loop that I run regularly. So after a nice steady start, we gradually built the pace and settled into a nice rhythm similar to last night. After a testing hill between 6 and 7km, Belinda started to slow slightly but recovered well to finish the run strongly. Again the time we ran was similar to times we ran this pre injury. Belinda's ankle is a little sore afterwards but nothing that RICE won't help. Now for a well earnt rest before going on a gentle 6km on Tuesday.

Great to see Belinda getting back into training. Injury breaks just suck.
And belated congratulations on your PB, Horrie. Seems to have been a trying race, and like you said - very close to Six Foot. A seven minute PB is still a seven minute PB - even if it isn't what you wanted.
