End of week wrap

13/5/05

Ran 10.8km on my own in a tick over 52 minutes. I was pushing it a bit without much success. I exerted a fair amount of energy for little result. My left achilles is strained and has been feeling a bit sore over the last week but isn't painful enough to stop me from running.

14/5/05

Did the short version of the Bondi Lifesaver with Belinda for a nice early morning run. This run measured a tick over 11km on the GPS. It starts at Bondi Beach then heads down to Rose Bay up to Double Bay, through Edgecliff and up to Bondi Junction before heading back down to Bondi Beach. Belinda moved well and was just a touch slower than her 10km race pace up until Double Bay where it goes uphill to Edgecliff and Bondi Junction for a few kms which slowed her down. However she made up for it and really upped the pace on the downhill run down to Bondi Beach and finished with a last km of 5:04.

15/5/05

We headed down to The Rocks for a lap of the SMH Half course to give Belinda a taste of what to encounter next week. We were again moving along at a nice pace until heading back into the city streets and turning up through the Argyle Cut which slowed her down. After we finished the loop, asked Belinda if she wanted to run a little loop around so we could go through the Argyle Cut again. Even though she was feeling it a bit, she agreed and ran strongly through it the second time round and is now well prepared for the tough sections of this course for next week.
