The Tale of Two Runs

27/9/05

Belinda and I headed out on our 10.5km loop. Her ankle was very sore and this restricted her stride quite a bit. She gritted her teeth for the first 7km until it went numb and that made it easier to run. After the run I thought I managed to convince her to take a break from running until she had no pain in that lower leg region.

29/9/05

After convincing me that the pain had disappeared from her ankle region, Belinda and I again headed out on our 10.5km loop. She was moving a lot easier today but found the horribly humid conditions stifling. Her leg felt fine but she was frustrated by her inability to build speed. I told her just to settle into an easy stride and the pace would return. The result was a 2 minute quicker run than Tuesday. It now looks as though she will be able to run Homebush on Saturday where I will once again be on 55 minute pacing duties. It will be interesting to see how that pans out.

Comments:
Belinda, I'm really sorry that you weren't able to make it to drinks last week. However I am very glad that your ankle is behaving itself again.

Good luck next weekend Horrie; I now wish I was heading down to cheer. However I will be thinking you on the big day and sending you telepathic cheers!

J.
