Another Marathon Weekend
11/11/05
Headed out on the 10.5km loop on my own. As it was a bit cooler than the last couple of days, I decided to move it up tempo a bit as it had been a while since I had run this course in under 50 minutes. Was happy to do it in 48:33.

As Belinda couldn't meet the alarm, after a bit of a sleep in, I decided to head out along the coast to Bronte and back on my own. Because I left a bit later, the sun was well and truly up when I started at 8am. I thought of Blue Dog and Eagle heading out for their debut 100 milers. It was a real slog of a run on quite a hilly course and ended up covering 24km in 2:22. Despite drinking 1.2 litres during the run, was quite dehydrated when I finished and was 2kg lighter than when I started. Needless to say that I spent the rest of the day rehydrating.

As Tim had an athletics carnival on today, we put our run off till the evening. We decided to head out to Randwick Racecourse and back for an even 20km. It was very pleasant running at dusk and we both found it very refreshing. Belinda moved quite well despite only having run twice this week due to some sort of a stomach bug. Ended up running the 20km in 2:06. So I ended up covering 44km in just under 4:30 for the weekend. Legs were feeling quite heavy toward the end. I can't imagine ever being able to run 100 miles. The guys who do that are on another planet. I will be happy if I can ever do a 100km. That'll do me!

Two big runs back to back is a pretty good effort Horrie.
I reckon the 100 mile bug will get you one day - you're already thinking about it if you are writing about it :-)

So Horrie, you'll be happy to do 100k. Does that mean you'll throw an extra 4k in at the end of PMC ;-)
(Hmmmm, worth thinking about ...)

Sounds like a big weekend Horrie. I hope Belinda is feeling better now. We'll have to try and catch up for a run in the next few weeks.
Horrie
That stomach bug Belinda had has been doing the rounds,. It went thru the rabbits daycare like the veritable hot knife.
You seem to be consistently racking up the kms, but gee a 2 kilo weight loss after drinking over a litre, a good reminder for summer running.
Clovelly canter is coming up soon, hope to see you both there. Take care.

Saturday week should give you a few extra kms towards that 100, Horrie! I'll talk to Ewen tonight & get a starting time for the 26th & will let you know a.s.a.p. Very, very pleased that you & Belinda will be doing part of 6Ft with us.
Horrie,
As Tesso says, all you have to do is run back over the Harbour Bridge and return back to the Opera house, on the down year that is. Up year next year, so a few laps of Adcock Oval should do it ;-). Look forward to seeing you at the "longer" races next year mate.

Horrie....we plan to leave Explorers Tree at 8:00a.m on Saturday 26th; does that suit you & Belinda? Ewen also is thrilled that you are both coming for part of the run!
