Midweek Update
9/11/05
After having a rest day on Monday, we awoke to a thunder storm yesterday so no run again. This morning we headed out for an easy 10.5km loop as Belinda wasn't feeling the best. Despite taking it easy, the sweat was still pouring out of us. Gees it's getting warm.
I decided to double up and meet up with the Striders MTG who are in training for Canberra. It was a very oppressive 35 degrees and I was thinking why did I pick this week to start on my 2 runs on Wednesday program? Anyway, after a quick debate on what to do, we decided to do a straight 10km as this was going to be enough in the conditions. As there are runners of different abilities, we splintered into groups and I ran most of the way a couple of steps behind Mohammad who was taking it very easy. Finished the 10km in 52 minutes feeling quite stuffed. I found some shade to do my warmdown stretches but I don't think it was that much cooler in the shade.

We again headed out on our 10.5km and moved it up a gear this morning. As we started before the sun came up, I commented to Belinda how much more pleasant it is to run in the morning. But by the time we had finished, the sun had risen and I knew we were in for another scorcher. It was good to get it over before it got too warm and was good that Belinda ran strongly considering the conditions.

Sure was warming up this morning Horrie, just means more morning training as summer approaches. Good to hear your training is going well mate.
It is indeed warming up Horrie, makes you all nostalgic for 6' training.
Might have to think about getting the Quarry Road Training Squad lined up :-)

Thank you Horrie for your comment on my blog yesterday. I really appreciate it.
Belinda, anytime I get a bit down over the next few weeks, I am going to think of the look on your face as you passed the CR cheersquad during the marathon and I will know that this break will be worth it :-)
