Midweek Update
22/11/05
Took Belinda down to Maroubra for some bigger hill reps today. A 1km warmup before doing 5x400m hill reps up Torrington Rd. The first was done at a steady pace as Belinda got the feel for it. The next 2 were run strongly and then the last 2 were done at a similar pace to the first one as Belinda ran out of legs. She commented on our warmdown run how 5 hill reps make you feel a lot worse than running a marathon. I then reminded her that the pain only lasted 30 minutes whereas the pain of running a marathon is a more drawn out process.

We headed out on our 10.5km loop and ran it at a solid pace. Belinda felt good after it and knew that she had given a solid effort.
In the evening I headed out with the Striders MTG pack. Tonight we ran 2 laps of the bay. The first lap was run in 38 minutes before Professor and Johnny Dark decided they had a need for speed on the second lap. They left me in their dust and then they would feel sorry for me and stop and wait for me before taking off on me again. They repeated this process 3 times just to make me feel good. It was good fun and pushed me through for a 32 minute second lap. The legs were feeling very heavy at the finish but strangely enough, I really enjoyed the run.
This gave me a total of 24.5km for the day.

Gee, Belinda must've been really pushing it on those hills if it felt worse than a marathon :-) Though I can sorta understand waht she meant.
Nice loooong mid-week run for you there Horrie. Secret PMC training maybe ;-)
