Weekday Wrap
31/1/06
A few niggles in both feet got the better of me this morning so I had an extra day off. Belinda headed down to Maroubra Beach for 6 hill reps at Torrington Rd on her own. She wasn't sure of the splits but just concentrated on running them consistently.
1/2/06
We headed out for a 14km midweek long run. Starting off slowly as I could still feel my niggles and it was very humid. After about 3km Belinda announced we were running too slowly and that I needed to up the pace. It's usually the other way around. After that we maintained it a fairly solid pace and finished just under 90 minutes.
2/2/06
It was Belinda's turn to have a day off as she was feeling a little off colour. I headed out on the 10.5km loop on my own and found it very hard going. It was so hot and humid, even when I ran before sunrise, that I was soon melting very quickly. As this was the time of year where I had some issues with heat stress last year, I just sat on a comfortable pace and held it. By the time I finished, I looked like I'd been for a swim with my clothes on. I was still sweating half an hour after I'd stopped running.
3/2/06
We just ambled around for 7.5km today. With Belinda still not feeling that great and the fact that she is racing tomorrow, it was just a run where you go out to turn the legs over. At least it was cooler than yesterday, even though still very humid.

Hmmm - sounds familiar - kinda like the week I've had - guess you have to pay the piper at some stage!
Need to freshen up so we can peak for the big party in March ;-)
