Weekly update for Team Horrie

Belinda's calf problem has now extended to her knee after giving the leg a workout on the exercise bike. She is still unable to run. We are hopeful of her returning to the road again soon.

On a more positive note, Tim competed in his first State Championships at Little Athletics last weekend. They invited Athletes With Disabilities to compete and will have proper competition for them next year. So there is good reason for him to continue to train well and keep improving.

As for me, I ran 10.5km on Monday, did 45 minutes on the exercise bike on Tuesday, ran 10.8km on Wednesday and finished the weekdays off with 2 more 10.5km runs. I was very happy with my effort on Friday and this was the best I had felt on this run for a long time.

I finished the week off with 30km today at 7:30/km pace to help me prepare for my role as Luckylegs escort in Canberra. I managed the run without incident. The legs were a bit weary at the end but when aren't they after running 30km?

Comments:
Great effort Horrie! It's not easy running at 'out of sight on a dark night' pace.

Gosh, Belinda can't take a trick :-( She had such a great start to the year. Hope she's back in action soon.

Glad you and Timbo are both in one piece and doing well. Looking forward to catching up with you all in a couple of weeks.

Great to see you both on Thursday... all my good vibes going your way B! Take care and you will be back soon!

Go TIM!!!!

After your big 6' effort Horrie you seem to be doing very well.

All the best to Belinda. See you in the Nation's Capital soon.

It is enforced rest Belinda and you will come back the stronger and keener person because of it.

Tim, what fabulous news!! Certainly hope we get to hear about your upcoming competitions next year so the CR cheersquad get the chance to return the favours you have done at many events.

Horrie, running slower than your normal pace, as you no doubt know, is soooooo much harder than running faster. It wears on your body and exhausts you without giving you the endorphin hit that running fast does. I think you are doing a very great thing indeed and when you cross that finish with LL you will have the biggest endorphin rush ever - including tears and goosepimples - because it will be a marvellous finish.

I just hope I am there to see it, I certainly haven't trained to be out there for more than 5 hours!!!

Super great effort Horrie! I know what it's like to try to run out of sight day or night! But we'll do it or die!
