Ride - Run - Ride
23/5/06
As the inflamed tendon in my left foot was just starting to settle down, I decided to have a session on the exercise bike. So I pumped out 20km and was happy how I pulled up. All the muscle soreness is just a memory so I am looking forward to ramping the training up to have a good hitout at the final race of the SMC Series on Sunday.

To help with the goal of running a good race on Sunday, I decided to do a fartlek session over my 10.5km loop. After a 3km warmup, I ran 6x2 minute efforts with a minute jog recovery between each one. Finished off with a 3.5km warmdown. Not feeling as sharp as the last time I did this, but given recent events, that was to be expected.

Back on the exercise bike for a solid hour's cycling. I really enjoyed this morning's session and find that these sessions still enable me to train hard without thrashing the legs in the same way a solid run would.

I'm so pleased to hear that you have pulled up well after your recent adventures Horrie. Good on you for your pacing duties at SMH - I have no doubt that they were greatly appreciated.
