Continuing the buildup to PMC and Belinda's recovery continues
8/6/06
I opted for a fartlek session over the 10.5km loop. A 3km warmup followed by 6 X 2 minute efforts with a minute jog recovery between each effort. I ran the efforts solidly without being spectacular. Was starting to feel the effects of a cold coming on with a dry patch developing in the throat.
Belinda decided to run another 5km today and I caught up with her on my way back home on the warmdown. We ran the last 1.5km together and running for her at the moment isn't great but she is determined to keep at it, even though the knee is still quite restricted in movement. The knee was bothering her towards the end but she just pushed through it.

After enjoying a rest day yesterday, I ventured out for my slow and steady 30km run today. It wasn't raining but was quite damp and humid. Almost identical stats to last week's long run. Finished in the same time of 3:08 but average HR of 128 up 2 from last week. Probably due to the humidity, the after effects of the cold or the glasses of red I had last night.
Belinda again got through a 5km run, making it 15km for the week. Her knee is still not great but seems to be recovering quicker than it was when she first ventured back. She is slowly building up and the knee seems to be holding up okay as the pain level is not preventing her from running.
