CR 5km Challenge
28/7/06
With Cities on Sunday, I had 2 easy runs on the program. Today was just a very comfortable 6km in just over 29 minutes.

Team Horrie headed out to The Bay for another 5km Challenge. I was pacing Tim whilst Belinda was hoping to beat her time from last month. After a first km of 7:34, I thought Tim was off to a good start but wondered whether he had gone out too hard and would be able to hold on. The second km of 8:59 was more like his usual pace and he was now developing a good rhythm. The 3rd km of 8:50 showed that Tim was holding it together and I now told him that he was past halfway and he only had a bit more to go. He was working really hard to hold his form and reeled off an 8:57 4th km. A quick calculation told me even if he slowed and did a 10 minute final km that he would still do a PB. After working so hard throughout the whole run, he was unable to put in his big sprint finish but a final km of 9:20 was enough to finish with a 43:41, which carved of 2:14 off his PB. After he recovered he was so excited for the rest of the morning.
Belinda had watch troubles and was unable to record an exact time but finished first runner home, well under her target of 30 minutes.

Yay Timbo!!! Congrats on that massive PB buddy.
And well done Belinda. Sounds like the comeback is well and truly on track.

Great run by Tim and good consistent pacing, save the fatigue in the last k. Congrats to him on the PB.
