Midweek long run
16/8/06
Headed out for a very steady 2 hour run today. I estimated that I would probably run around 6 minutes/km so I chose to do 20km. I was a fraction over that pace the whole way. Just after the turnaround to come home, I was running along when I saw this old guy with a beard and beanie. As I ran past him, I freaked out because I thought I was having hallucinations about seeing Ken Smith, my 12 Foot rescuer from Saturday night. I thought there must be some hidden demons that was causing me to see him as I know he lives in the Ryde area. So I had to stop and turn around and couldn't believe my eyes when it was actually him. As it turns out, he works a bit over a km from my place so he joined me to run to work as I ran home. It was great to have some company and listen to what happened to his body on Saturday night with dehydration. Anyway, he has sure recovered well as he put on the occasional spurt which I had to work hard to counter. I bid him farewell as we got to his work and I continued home to finish the 20km in a tick under 2:03.

I can't believe you did a 20kms run only days after your HUGE weekend. You are a machine Horrie!
Hope Belinda & Tim have pulled up well after their great runs on Sunday!

I am amazed at how well you recover Horrie. How do you do it!
I'm thinking I'll need to do some serious last minute training if I'm to cover some miles with you at GH.
