End of week wrap

23/11/06

7 Wild Wallys were on the menu today. Before today, I had only managed to go under 2:45 twice. Today 2:45 was my slowest split. I started and finished with my new PB of 2:39. In between that were a couple of 2:41s and 2:43s as well as the 2:45. This gave me an average of under 2:42 for the session. I was very happy with the consistency of the session and am working very hard to keep the momentum going.

Belinda did great and finished all 7 Wild Wallys which left her with a lot of confidence.

Belinda had a rest day so I headed out for a steady paced 6km which I finished in around 29 minutes.

We headed out for our usual Saturday run which we have done for the last couple of weeks. We start at Maroubra Beach and run along the coastline to Coogee and head back. It is quite a hilly course but we just run it at a steady pace and don't attack the hills. Although the hills do make you work harder than if you were doing a nice easy flat run.

Due to Little Athletics commitments, I headed out early for an 1:45 run. The plan was to run 21km in that time at 5 min/km pace. As I don't have a measured 21km run, I added on a lap around Randwick Racecourse to my 20km run to that neck of the woods. This gave me a distance of somewhere between 21 and 22km which was a touch quicker than 5 min/km pace.

Belinda headed out to Bernie G and Blue Dog's place to do her long run with them. Belinda covered 18km in around 1:50 and finished feeling great.

Comments:
Belinda is going really well Horrie. Glad all the injuries are under control.

Steady as she goes Horrie - well done to you both ;-)
