Heading up to GNW (to support)
9/11/06
After having a rare rest day on Wednesday, I headed to SWEAT to take on Big Bertha for 10 reps. This would have to be the toughest of Sean's sessions as you continuously run up and down this monster of a hill until you've done 10. You lose count after 7 as the pain kicks in. The only way you have of remembering what rep you are on is by Sean yelling out your splits as you pass. The trick for this session is to find the right pace and just keep plugging along. I was a bit toey and went out a bit hard on the first 2. I paid the price for this and then it just became a battle for survival. I was relieved to finish them in 19:36, which is 21 seconds off my best but 40 seconds quicker than last time.

I had an easy half hour for my regular Friday run. I decided to head to Centennial Park and run 2 laps of the inside fence on the grass. So the distance was probably around the 7km mark and I coasted these in just under 38 minutes.
GNW Preparations
I am heading up this afternoon with Bandanna to crew for him. I am feeling a few pangs of regret that I am not running as I can feel the excitement building. It is Bandanna and Allison Lilley's first experience of doing a run like this on their own. However I would mention that they have a lot of experience doing Trailwalkers. So they know what they are getting themselves in for. After initially considering the 100km, they have both entered the 100 miler. Their plan is to get to the 100km mark and see how they are feeling. I would imagine they won't be feeling that great but am looking forward to encouraging them to go the whole way. I am prepared to pace either of them for the last bit if required. It should be a lot of fun either way.

All the best for getting them to do the 100 miler Horrie. Looking forward to reading all about it!
I couldn't think of a better person to have as a crew.
