Midweek Update

20/11/06

Ran a slow and steady 10.5km loop in just over an hour. It was really humid and I looked like I had a shower with my clothes on by the time I finished.

Belinda and I headed to SWEAT for some trackwork. I had 5x1km while Belinda had 5x600s on the menu. After 2 reps, an irate Park Ranger turned up with his lights flashing and ordered us off the track. Sean got fined for disobeying a previous instruction. We then switched to our 1km fartlek course and ran them there. I was very happy with the consistency of the session.

Splits were 3:52, 3:52, 3:51, 3:49 and 3:47. Belinda ran her 600s all around the 3 minute mark.

I decided to pass on joining Belinda and the SWEAT girls on their 90 minute run this morning as I wanted to add some quality to the run. This worked well for both of us as Belinda and the girls ran 15km in the 90 minutes while I finished 18km in 88 minutes for an average pace of 4:55 per km.

Comments:
That must be so frustrating about the park ranger. You think 'the authorities' would be happy to see people using the facilities in such a positive way.

What's their gripe with you guys being there???

Lol - have to start calling it Yogi Bear SWEAT if you keep getting in trouble from Mr Ranger Sir. ;-)

Well, some people just can't bear to see others enjoying themselves...poor little ranger!

The Ranger had trouble with some people doing touch footy near the cafe. So he called the police. I ran a 15min lap and they were still there the next time. Not sure for what. Must be the same as Seans problem?

Why aren't they chasing vandals and criminals!

So good running from both you and Belinda - everything's going well :)
