Another good week of training

10/12/06

I headed out for an easy 6km on my own in around 32 minutes.

11/12/06

We headed to SWEAT for intervals around the lake today. We both had 4 reps. Mine were full laps, which is around 1450m while Belinda's group were running around 1200m. I was very happy how I ran the reps and kept them nice and consistent without slowing down at the end like I am prone to doing. My splits were 5:40, 5:37, 5:36 and 5:36. Belinda ran the first rep slowly before finding her rhythm and running the last 3 with good form.

12/12/06

We headed to Centennial Park again to start our midweek long run. After starting at the Randwick Racecourse gates we headed towards Oxford St via the Bondi Junction route. We then headed down through Woollahra to Double Bay and then up and down some hills through Darling Point to Rushcutters Bay before turning around and heading back the same way. We ended up covering around 14km in 91 minutes.

13/12/06

We had 7 laps of Wild Wally on the menu today. After the warmup and drills, I was hopeful of a PB set while Belinda was focussed on running them all and maintaing her form to the end. The runners who run around the same pace as me were all cruising the first rep and we took it fairly easy. The second rep was run a bit firmer and then I decided that I wasn't going to run a PB set unless I upped the ante. I was happy with the way I ran the next 3 which were all run quicker than my previous PB for a single lap. The 6th lap was not a good one as fatigue was starting to set in. But I dug deep and finished the last lap equal to my old PB. Splits were 2:48, 2:41, 2:37, 2:37, 2:38, 2:43 and 2:39 for an average of 2:40. This has given me a new PB for a single lap as well as the set so a very happy chappy indeed.

Belinda had her best SWEAT session for consistency since she started, running all 7 with 11 seconds also separating her slowest to her quickest. Her splits were 3:29, 3:34, 3:24, 3:28, 3:35, 3:34 and 3:33 for an average of 3:31.

14/12/06

As I had a busy day at work ahead, I opted to keep my run around home and ran the 6km loop on my own in just under 30 minutes for a nice way to start the day.

Belinda headed to Centennial Park and ran for 35 minutes on her own and covered around 5km for a nice easy run.

15/12/06

I decided to run the 6km loop again today in the same time as yesterday. The reason for this is that I am going to race the SMC Half tomorrow to see how my performance stacks up against the Central Coast Half 2 weeks ago.

As Belinda was on a morning shift today, she was out early before work. She parked her car at Randwick before running into work for around 7km.

Strong as always guys <---- all I had to do was cut and paste my comment from your last weekly wrap - I figure if you guys are so consistent I should be too :-)

See ya's up at Quarry Rd on Sunday.
