Tune Up
1/5/07
We had a 4 lap time trial of the lake which is 5.7km. Some pretty dodgy footing in a few parts so like the Cross Country last Saturday, not the fastest conditions. As I managed to go under 23 minutes for the first time the last time we did this session, I was hopeful of repeating that effort. Felt a million times better than last Saturday and comfortably held the pace just below 4 min/km to finish in 22:41. Happy that the goal of the session was met.
2/5/07
I decided to head out on my 12km figure 8 course as that was the run I did in the leadup to last month's Striders 10km. I kept the foot off the pedal and was happy to finish in a bit over 58 and a half minutes.
3/5/07
As we are racing on Saturday, Sean programmed a lot of us for 3x600m with about 1:45 jog recovery between each rep. As a lot of us were only doing 3, I was happy to blast off and see what I had. I was very pleased with the results and it felt good to not be too far behind the big guns. Splits were 2:05, 2:04 and 2:06. The interesting stat from the session was that the 600s measured about 620m on the garmin.
4/5/07
The usual light half hour run on Fridays. Happy to cover 6.49km in the half hour.
All systems go for the sub 40 attempt tomorrow.

Go for it Horrie! That 41:29 with a bad patch was damn good for cross country. I see a 39:XX coming up :)
Good luck Horrie. Hope you run well mate and will see you down at Appin for a drink when you do it. Cheers mate.
